Footage has emerged showing an allegedly drunk Pennsylvania Democrat going on a wild tirade at a Montgomery County bar and threatening to destroy the business earlier this week.

The @PhillyCrimeUpd account series of wild accusations against them while yelling at him to leave.

NBC 10 Philadelphia confirmed Friday that the incident occurred at Gaul & Co. Malt House, a bar in Rockledge, Pennsylvania.

Footage obtained by the @PhillyCrimeupd account begins with the bartender telling Boyle to get out, which causes him to explode:

By the way, I can fucking close this bar! I’ll fucking shut this bar down.

The bar staff were not intimidated, told him he was drunk and continued to ask him to leave using colorful language.

CLOCK:

A “confused” Boyle then asks why the staff are acting hostile. He approaches the other side of the bar counter and exchanges more vile words with the staff, including calling them “fucking idiots”.

The drunken Boyle then strangely accuses them of being out-of-town actors and mockingly tells them, “You won’t do anything to me.” He later accuses them of being military agents as a fed-up employee repeatedly tells him to “get out of the bar.”

After several seconds, Boyle explodes again and threatens to use his power as a state representative to close the bar.

I’ll fucking close your bar! This bar is over! You know who the fuck I am! This bar will be ready tomorrow!

The video then ends with more crosstalk, with the bar employees refusing to back down.

Although police were called in response to the incident, Boyle was NOT arrested. It is also unknown whether or not Boyle drove a vehicle away from the scene.

A spokesperson for Pennsylvania’s House Democratic leaders released a statement on the incident, calling it “concerning” and saying that Congressman Boyle is receiving mental health help.

We are aware of a video circulating on social media. It’s very worrying. Representative Boyle has been open about his personal challenges.

We are encouraged that our colleague and dear friend is seeking help. Our commitment to providing mental health services doesn’t stop at the Capitol steps. One of the main reasons we support access to mental health so strongly is the reality that challenges can happen to anyone, and seeking treatment should be encouraged, not stigmatized.

This isn’t state Rep. Boyle’s first run-in with the law, either. NBC 10 Philadelphia notes in 2021, Boyle was arrested and charged with harassment and violating a protection from abuse order filed by his wife.
