Residents of a California border city have kicked their trans mayor out of office amid the city’s struggles with serious social problems.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this week that 26-year-old Calexico Mayor Raul Ureña, the first trans mayor in the Golden State, was facing a serious recall attempt from residents fed up with his so-called leadership. Calexico is a small, heavily Hispanic city in southern Imperial County, on the Mexico-California border.

Calexico has seen rampant crime rates and the emergence of homeless encampments. Ureña’s reign left the city center in difficulty.

Despite being a biological male, Ureña identifies as a transgender woman and uses she/they pronouns. She’s stopped using conservative dresses as office attire in favor of low-cut dresses that show off a still-hairy chest.

Ureña has described herself as “sexy as hell” on several occasions, according to the New York Post.

Now he probably feels a little less confident. The Daily Mail revealed that nearly 74% of voters voted to recall Ureña on April 16, a landslide victory for sanity.

The news only got better when another politician from Calexico’s radical left was also kicked out. The Daily Mail revealed that councilor Gilberto Manzanarez, a supporter of Ureña, saw 73% of voters vote in favor of recalling him.

According to the newspaper, a total of 4,933 votes were cast for the recall. What makes the overwhelming numbers against Ureña and Manzanarez even more impressive is that Republicans represent only 27% of the heavily Democratic city’s population.

Maritza Hurtado, 58, a former mayor of Calexico, led the recall of both Ureña and Manzanarez. She recently recounted a harrowing encounter on Facebook with a local business owner who was receiving no help despite the presence of drug addicts hanging around her workplace.

Yesterday I met with another Calexico Downtown business owner who showed me these videos and, with tears in his eyes, asked, “What can we do?” These videos show two people in front of his shop being hunched over in a “zombie state” and frozen for half an hour! He received no help from the city.

I told her: “We will organize and push TOGETHER for a safer center.” I honor all my fellow downtown merchants who are struggling in this nightmarish situation, we have work to do! Vote YES to the Recall!!! Vote YES.”

In response to the righteous reaction, Ureña refused to take responsibility for his failures. Instead, he pulled the transphobia card as the real reason for the recall, citing alleged personal attacks and photos intended to discredit him.

“Predictable transphobia,” he complained.

Ureña also feared that he might be more vulnerable if he were not elected because of his “identity.”

“I might even be more vulnerable if I wasn’t in an elected position where people elected me to represent a lot of people who don’t identify as LGBT,” she said.
