MSNBC’s Jen Psaki debunked Trump’s lies about crime and proved that the former president is not law and order, but pro-crime.
Psaki said:
Trump often decries rampant crime in New York City; specifically, in reality, serious crime has fallen by over 75% in the last 30 years. And it’s even down this year compared to last year. Trump also says, I mean, he says a lot, that he would be tougher on crime than President Joe Biden. In fact, Trump’s last budget when he was president, when he was budgeting, actually proposed cuts to funding for local law enforcement. You could say he’s literally trying to defund the police. You could say that.
President Biden has consistently proposed in all of his budgets much more funding, and Trump, of course, continually claims that he will restore law and order. You heard it over and over in that clip, which is pretty rich considering that Trump is also telling us that one of his top priorities on day one is actually releasing criminals from prison. That is, these people, the people who stormed the United States Capitol, who infiltrated the hallways and chambers of Congress, who made lawmakers fear for their lives and who they tried to stop with the forces the peaceful transfer of power.

He wants to free people who violently attacked police officers with bats, bats, pepper spray, flagpoles and fire extinguishers, causing concussions, cracked ribs and other serious injuries.

Mr. Law and Order, as he calls himself, who centered his re-election campaign on fear of violent crime, wants amnesty for violent criminals. It’s one of his first days. Day one priorities for the country. He says it all the time, and that fact should not be lost on the American public as he weighs his options this November.

At first glance it is incredible that a man accused of 91 crimes is running as a law and order presidential candidate. It would have been unfathomable even 20 years ago that the party that considered itself the party of law and order would nominate as its presidential candidate a candidate accused of 91 crimes.
More than lies, what Donald Trump is doing is creating a fictional story about a candidate and a country that doesn’t exist. Donald Trump as a law and order candidate is almost as fictional as the idea that America is a crime-ridden nation.
One of the biggest crime problems in America is a former president who supposedly can’t stop committing crimes.
